Perfect Alignment

Slide1.JPG

There are times when I’m driving at night that the moon is so full, and so bright, that it seems I could turn off my headlights because the street is so illuminated from the light of the moon. But if you remember anything from basic astronomy in school, the moon doesn’t give off any light, only that which reflects off the sun.

That makes me think of my relationship with Jesus. He is the source of light, on my own, like the moon, I emit no light. But when I am in perfect alignment, I reflect the full light of Jesus Christ. The moon has phases and throughout them we see “different moons,” half-moons, crescent moons, slivers…etc. They’re all the same moon, but at different stages of its rotation, they are reflecting less light from the sun, so we see less of the moon.

When we go through phases in our lives that are challenging, we may turn from God, and therefore, we too don’t reflect as much light from the Son. God set the moon on a perfect axis, with a perfect plan to provide seasons and light at night, but He did not create us on an axis; we turn by choice, on emotion. We need to stay aligned with our perfect source of light so that others may see through our adversity that there is LIGHT at the end of the tunnel…that there IS hope.
