It’s O.K. to Be Clingy

It's OK to be Clingy (2).jpg

The other day, I noticed a peculiar looking bug on the outside of my car window. I figured, as they usually do, that he would fall off as we gained speed going down the road. To my surprise, we traveled 43 miles, at speeds up to 70 mph and he was still with us when we reached our destination. During the trip, I would notice that his legs would be in stretched out in awkward positions in an attempt to hang on, and I could tell that the wind was an extreme force against his efforts. But against all odds, he survived the journey by clinging to what he thought was the safest of options.

In life, we often find ourselves in situations for which we aren’t prepared. We feel like life is moving too fast, maybe we can’t get a grip or we’re losing our footing; like a good game of Twister, we end up in awkward positions and we feel like everything is working against us. Satan is that extreme force and he’s got you just where he wants you…unsure of yourself, entwined and unable to hang on.

Do you feel like that bug? Are holding on for dear life, not knowing if you’re going to make it? Rest assured, there is hope if you are a believer! Being a Christian doesn’t absolve you from having troubles, but knowing Jesus and the Word of God can bring peace and wisdom in your time of need. Romans 8:31 says, “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Could it really be that simple? YES!! We just need to remind ourselves, when we’re getting whipped by the winds of life, cling to God with all your might, knowing that He is bigger than anything you’re facing.
