Greasy Grace

Greasy Grace 2 (2).png

You’ve heard the saying, “Give them an inch and they’ll take a mile.” As a parent of two young adults, I’ve had my fill of tested limits or broken curfews multiple times. After a while, you begin to feeliabused and taken advantage of.

We The Kingdom sings a song, Holy Water, and the words of the bridge say, “I don't wanna abuse Your grace; God, I need it every day. It's the only thing that ever really makes me wanna change.” Just because God is generous with His grace does not mean we should use it to justify our sin. A friend of mine calls this “greasy grace.” Some people think life after salvation is a breeze, using…or abusing… God’s grace as a slip and slide into heaven. But like the song sings, the gift of His grace should inspire us to want to do better, by making personal changes in our lives, in an effort to please Him and bring Him glory. Instead of justifying your sin with His grace, allow His grace to justify you through the redemption power of Jesus’ resurrection. Romans 3:24
